FORMER RAILROAD COMMISSION OF TEXAS MANAGER JOINS TEXAS811
At Texas811, we’re serious about Damage Prevention and about spreading the word about the need for calling 811. Our safety and education programs are the best in the nation, reaching people all over Texas – which is a good thing, since Texas has about one sixth of all the buried pipelines in the United States!
To that end, we’re pleased to announce the addition of David Ferguson to our staff in the role of Pipeline Response Manager.
Ferguson’s name should be familiar to many of our readers. For years he has attended education and Safety Day events to talk about the 811 system in his role as Pipeline Damage Prevention Program Manager with the Railroad Commission of Texas.
In that position he represented the Commission before damage prevention and pipeline safety organizations, the One-Call Board of Texas, other state agencies, the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), and other public forums.
David’s role with Texas811 will be to establish and maintain an effective Pipeline Response program throughout the state in conjunction with local facility owner/operators and excavators.
“Having David on board means a broader reach for Texas811 as we work to continue our job of protecting Texas’ underground infrastructure,” said Mike Losawyer, Texas811 president. “His background with the Railroad Commission and the respect he brings with him is invaluable.”
“I’ve worked with Texas811 for many years through the Railroad Commission,” Ferguson said. “I’m looking forward to continuing to play a part in pipeline damage prevention with the nation’s largest 811 center.”
David was most recently seen in Amarillo at the first of our 17 Safety Day events for PipelineResponse and Mock Line Strike with Enertech.
If you’ve already met David, you know what an energetic and charismatic person he is – and extremely knowledgeable about Texas pipeline information. If you haven’t met him, you will soon at an event – but you can also come to the Texas811 Damage Prevention Summit in San Marcos next week to meet him in person!
David will be at our booth just inside the doors of the exhibit hall, and he’d enjoy meeting and talking with you.
This year’s event is again taking place in San Marcos, February 27 – March 1. Exhibitors will be displaying and demonstrating their products and services to the largest gathering of industry professionals dedicated to excavation safety and damage prevention in the state.
