Happy July 5th! I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Independence Day.
You know, one of the things that makes our nation great is our ability to partner up and work together – to do what it takes to get the job done.
For example, take the construction of the first transcontinental railroad back in the 19th century. This feat involved laying over 1,900 miles of track from 1863 to 1869. The engineers fought their way through mountains, snow, blazing desert heat, fast flowing rivers and many other obstacles. Manual labor was supplied (after 1865) by both Union and Confederate army veterans and recent immigrants, including many thousands of workers from China. It’s a credit to the surveyors that hundreds of miles of the original line are still in service today (of course, with new rails and ties!)
When we work together, we’re stronger – and that goes for 811 and damage prevention, as well.
Now, two of the best known and most respected names in the 811 and damage prevention industries are working together, providing unparalleled excavator, contractor and emergency responder training.
Texas811, the nation’s largest one call center, and Enertech, the nation’s leading damage prevention entity, are collaborating in two programs, PipelineResponse and Mock Line Strike, to conduct liaison meetings in Texas for 2017.
What does this mean for you?
It means you have the chance to sponsor and attend one or all of 16 Texas Damage Prevention Council Safety Days and 27 County Meetings.
The Safety Day events dovetail with Mock Line Strikes and Pipeline Response Emergency Responder Training. Here’s a link to a story about a Mock Line Strike event: http://www.texas811.org/video-gallery
The County Meetings feature Excavator and Contractor training conducted by Texas811 while PipelineResponse Emergency Responder training will be conducted by Enertech.
Additionally, state level and EPA Region 6 LEPC Annual Workshops will also be conducted.
Cost is only $600 per asset county.
Come join us – your training has never looked better!
Programs:
PipelineResponse is a collaboration between Enertech and Texas811. It was born out of the necessity to create a better process of reaching Emergency Officials with proper messaging and pre-planning which strengthens their response capabilities.
Mock Line Strike is a collaboration between Enertech and Texas811. It covers a complete excavation lifecycle from making the one-call, line locating, proper excavation tactics, line strike and emergency operator response to the line strike. The forum is set on an excavation site and representatives from each stakeholder group speak on each topic during the excavation lifecycle. This education through demonstration is designed to transform the contractor’s experiences, improve reach and create the critical connections necessary to prevent a pipeline incident.
Companies:
Enertech specializes in API RP 1162, CFR 192 and CFR 195 public awareness, damage prevention and integrity management programs for natural gas distribution, gas transmission, gas gathering and hazardous liquid pipeline companies. Innovation. Service. Experience. These are the driving forces behind the services, programs and products Enertech provides.
The Damage Prevention Councils of Texas is a fully incorporated 501 (c) (3) dedicated to underground utility damage prevention, along with the promotion of the “811 – Call Before You Dig” message and the Common Ground Alliance Best Practices. Currently, there are 23 Regional Councils encompassing the state of Texas.
Texas811 was formed in 1984 as Texas Excavation Safety System, Inc. and was the first statewide one call notification center in Texas. During the past 30 years, we have grown into the largest, and arguably most experienced, one call notification center in the world, exceeding well over 2 ¾ million locate requests annually. Texas811 maintains multiple data centers and communications nodes to minimize downtime and safeguard important information. In addition to Texas, Texas811 provides one call services in South Carolina, South Dakota, New Mexico, West Virginia and Mississippi. Texas811 is a 501 (c) 4 non-profit organization.
Until next week, safe digging!
