Almost all of the pre-game hype focused on Manning. At the age of 39, he was the oldest quarterback to ever start a Super Bowl. He had 199 career wins, tied with retired quarterback Brett Favre. And the lingering question, of course, was would he retire win or lose after the game?
At the time of this writing, Manning remains coy on the subject of retirement, but he DID eclipse Favre to notch 200 career wins. Oh, yeah, and that was his second Super Bowl victory, too.
Manning played a pretty much error free game, but the same can’t be said for other members of the Broncos, who rolled up penalty yardage like it was candy shooting out of a Pez dispenser.
The safe game played by Manning – few throws and grinding it out on the ground, helped by one of the stiffest defenses in Super Bowl history – brought home the trophy.
That game plan was the winning call.
Are you making the winning call when you prepare to do excavation work? I don’t mean x’s and o’s. I mean the call to 811.
Nothing says you know your business like calling 811 prior to a dig. Nothing says “I’m a professional” like calling 811. Nothing says you are safety and damage prevention minded like making that call to 811.
The Denver Broncos get to call themselves world champions until February of 2017. When you call 811 prior to a dig, you get to call yourself a world champion, too – but there’s no expiration date! Keep calling 811 first, and your championship season will never end!
Now, for those of you keeping up – I promised to update my weight loss program right here every week. I started at 219 pounds on January 4. Hmm. Today’s weight is 214.4. Last week was 213.4. Good thing the Super Bowl only comes around once a year!!!!
Until next week, safe digging!
