It’s December, and we hear a lot about “giving back” at this time of year. Are you giving back? Even something as simple as contributing at a local soup kitchen is giving back. Many firms typically reach into their community in November and December. At Texas811, community outreach is an ongoing thing – but we’d like to share with you three items of interest.
The Teddy Bear Tree at Texas811 gave employees a chance to pull a name off the wall…and get something for a needy child. The items went to the Buckner Children’s Home, part of Buckner International, founded in 1879 as Buckner Orphans Home in Dallas. The gifts were loaded up and delivered via Texas811 express by Texas811 employees.
Texas811 is also participating in the Ronald McDonald House “Trains at Northpark” exhibit. We added a railcar with the Texas811 logo to our fleet, which already includes an English language and Spanish language caboose. If you’re in the Dallas area, you can see them at Northpark Mall at North Central Expressway and Northwest Highway, M-F 10am to 9pm, and Sunday 11am to 7pm. Proceeds from this popular holiday event benefit the Ronald McDonald house.
What will you give back? If nothing else, remember that a smile and kind word costs you nothing and goes a long way!
Until next week, safe digging!
