Do it yourself, better known as DIY, is not a new concept. The term “do it yourself” appears to have been a part of consumerism since about 1912, coming into common usage in the mid-1950’s. Everyone is familiar with the big box stores like Home Depot and Lowes that promote do it yourself, and of course TV shows on the subject are seemingly without end.
So why not take 811 to the do it yourself level?
Texas811’s brand new Homeowner’s Portal will do just that.
Texas811 is making it easier than ever for homeowners to request a line locate for work they’re doing on their own property. Homeowners can fill out the request form online with an easy-to-use question/answer format. Like the rest of Texas811’s services, it’s available 24/7/365. The Homeowner’s Portal improves safety and damage prevention as its “ease-of-use” encourages more homeowners to participate in the 811 program.
In the first half of this year, some 25,000 homeowners have already called in for locates on their property.
Among the new Homeowner’s Portal features are the following:
- Request your locate online at your convenience
